The app gained settings on saving with varying quality in JPEG and a full quality PNG format in addition to an option to set the resizing while saving the edited files.
Snapseed for iOS also gained the ability to edit RAW files with the 2.9 version, a feature which was already available for Android users. It offers skin smoothing and "eye clarity" adjustments. In addition, the developers introduced Face filter which automatically detects faces in the images and highlights them.
The app was also updated to add new features to the perspective tool which now allows stretching and skewing photos for fine tuning the distortions. The new White balance tool introduces a picker to pick the white area in the image for more accurate white balance corrections. Google updated Snapseed to version 2.9, adding white balance adjustment in terms of temperature and tint.
